‘Seven Brides for Seven Brothers’ musical to be staged in November
By Becca Farnsworth

The nail-biting decision has finally been made! Grand County High School’s fall musical play will be “Seven Brides for Seven Brothers”. The play’s three-night run is scheduled to take place Nov. 15-17 at the GCHS auditorium.

Auditions have already taken place, and many students are getting excited about the play, according to director and GCHS drama teacher Maralee Francis, who recently announced the casting of some of the lead roles after call-back auditions.

Taking place in the late 1800’s, the play tells the story of a naïve woman named Millie who surprisingly accepts a mountain man’s offer for marriage. He has six brothers, and Millie tries to teach them proper etiquette in an attempt to get them wives of their own.

According to the cast list, Kamron Call will play Adam and Mary Rice will play Millie. The other six couples haven’t been finalized yet, but those cast as brothers are Brendon Henderson, Reyce Knutson, Jacob Francis, Wesley Rodda, Adam Jenkinson, and Kris Kemp, and their brides are Donna Snow, Morgan Dalton, Becca Farnsworth, Jacey Johnson, Torrie Lopez, and Madie Camps. Cast as suitors are Layton Call, Aaron Lewis, Garrett Brown, Koi Cook, and Preston Walston. Also, Cory and Terrance Farnsworth will play fathers and Nikysha Harmison and Jessica Stucki will play mothers.

Practices are soon to be announced, as well as supporting roles. Anyone interested is invited to come join the fun!
