Brenn Kay Gifford
1953 - 2015

Early Life: Brenn was born March 21, 1953, in Provo, Utah, to Lloyd Gail and Flora "Jean" Nielsen Gifford. He graduated from Pleasant Grove High School in 1971.
Life's Work/Service/Interests: Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Air Force Reserve, stationed at Hill Air Force Base. He served an honorable mission in the Florida Fort Lauderdale Mission (Spanish-speaking) from 1973 to 1975 where he met his future wife, Zuly Castillo. Following his mission, he returned to Utah where he sold insurance and returned to service in the Air Force Reserve. Brenn and Zuly met up for lunch after their missions which started a courtship and led to marriage. They were sealed in the Manti Utah Temple for time and all eternity July 1, 1976. Shortly after marriage, they added their sweet baby girl, Shenna to their family. Their little ball of energy, Henry “Hank”, followed shortly after. Brenn’s career consisted of insurance sales, coal mining and law enforcement. He volunteered a lot of his time to help people improve their lives. He held various callings as a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, including: Gospel Doctrine teacher, elders quorum teacher, ward missionary and librarian. He loved to teach and tell stories. He had an amazing testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ and was inspired by men such as Jesus Christ, Joseph Smith and The First Presidency of the Church. He drew inspiration from historical figures such as George Washington and Abraham Lincoln, and finally from his father and his brothers. He had pictures of these men hanging from the wall in his office which he referred to as his “Wall of Heroes.” To Zuly, Shenna and Hank, Brenn was a hero. He was an avid hunter and loved the outdoors, especially the Boulder Mountain. He loved his family, his children and especially his true love, Zuly. Family was the center of his life; nothing was more important to him and was happiest when he was with them. Brenn Kay Gifford, beloved husband, father, uncle and grandfather, returned to his loving Father in Heaven on Sunday, September 13, 2015. He was 62 years of age.
