Dustin Michael Cannon - 9/22/2005

Class of 1998

ST. GEORGE - Dustin Michael Cannon, age 25, passed away Thursday, September 22, 2005, at his home in St. George. He was born November 22, 1979, in St. George, Utah, a son of Michael V. and Tamra E. Ivie Cannon.

Dustin was born, raised, and educated in St. George, where he graduated from Dixie High School. After graduation, he attended Dixie College Trade School for one year, and then served a two year mission in Cleveland, Ohio, for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. When he returned from his mission, he continued another three years at the Dixie College Trade School, and became a licensed plumber. He started his career with Colf's, then later enjoyed working for his cousins at Phillips Plumbing. He was currently employed by Putnam Plumbing, where he very much enjoyed working with Jeff, whom he respected and admired.

During Dustin's last three years at Dixie College he met Natalie Heaton. They were married on June 21, 2002, in the St. George Temple. They have since been living and raising their two beautiful daughters in St. George.

An active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Dustin had been serving as Elders Quorum President in the St. George 8th Ward. He was very spiritual and faithful, and loved his Heavenly Father and the Savior. He was gentle, caring, compassionate, sensitive, confident, hardworking and driven by his perfectionism. Dustin was a wonderful, devoted husband and a great father. His wife and daughters were the light of his life. Some would say that there had never been a more proud daddy. Hunting, 4-wheeling, coyote calling, and just about anything in the outdoors were some of Dustin's favorite things to do with his family.

He is survived by his: wife, Natalie, and two daughters, Hailey and Caitlyn, of St. George, UT; parents, Michael and Tamra Cannon, of St. George, UT; sisters, Nikohle (Derek) Larson, of St. George, UT, Shan Cannon, of Las Vegas, NV, Tracee (Kyle) Schneiter, of Riverdale, UT, Whitnee Cannon, of St. George, UT; mother and father-in-law, Doug and Coleen Heaton, of Alton, UT, brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Kelli, Robin, Jessie, Emily, Jodi, Nicole, Lacey, Lindy, Tenya, Joshua, Allora, and Ammon; grandmother, Virginia Cannon, of St. George, UT; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Ferron and Evelyn Ivie, and grandpa, Truman Cannon.
