Lynn Niederhauser - 5/12/2011

Class of 1957

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend passed away unexpectedly at his cabin, on Thursday afternoon, May 12, 2011.

He was born November 18, 1938 to Alma Joseph and Violet Bindrup Niederhauser in Logan, UT. Lynn was the 4th child of six children. He was raised in River Heights, UT until the age of 16 when his family moved to Clearfield, UT. He graduated from Davis High School.

Following high school he attended Basic Training with the U.S. Army. He served an LDS mission to the Northern States Mission and developed abiding gratitude for the hardships of the early saints.

Lynn returned from his mission and was sealed to his high school sweetheart, Shauna Lynn Bennett in the Salt Lake Temple after their 6-year courtship. They are best friends and were looking forward to celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary.

Lynn graduated from the University of Utah, with a Bachelor’s degree in Zoology and Chemistry. Lynn worked for California Chemical, Utah Health Dept, Davis County Health Dept, Clover Club Foods, and started his own construction business building many custom homes with his two brothers.

Lynn was a devout member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He always accepted every calling and then magnified it using the gifts he had been blessed with. Lynn enjoyed working in the scouting program for over 25 years. Lynn had a great love for the scriptures and knew them extremely well. Lynn and Shauna served a full-time mission for 18 months at the St. George Temple Visitors Center and Historical Sites. He was continually learning and loved to read and study both church and world history. We are convinced he visited every historical marker he ever passed by. They retired in St. George, UT and have had many opportunities for service and travel with family and friends. He was active in the Kaysville Rotary Club and The Sons of Utah Pioneers in St. George.

Lynn was preceded in death by his parents and we can imagine the warm reunion he had with them. He is survived by his wife Shauna, daughter Jill and (Chris) Cannon ; son, Nathan and (Kathryn) Niederhauser; grandchildren, Carson and Alexandra Cannon, and Austin, Jackson, Isaac, and Mackay Niederhauser. He is also survived by his sister Kathryn and (Robert) Wallace; brothers, Karren (Joanne), Mark (Mary Lou), Bruce (Marlene) and Clare (Berrie), as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
