Rhet Williams - 3/18/2016

Class of 1998

Jeffrey Rhet Williams
Born: May 15, 1980
Died: March 18, 2016

Jeffrey Rhet Williams passed away Friday March 18, 2016 in Draper, Utah.

Rhet was the second of four children of Jeff and Julie Williams born May 15, 1980 in Beaver, Utah.

It was impossible to stay emotionally neutral around Rhet. You could find yourself becoming more angry and frustrated than you’ve ever been in your life, only to forgive and love him like most people have only dreamed possible.

Rhet was the life of any party. He was a master storyteller that would draw you in with his contagious smile and passion for life. He never failed to make you laugh, and could talk his way into and out of everything.

Rhet was a competitor and was among the top athletes in the state in any sport in which he participated. He excelled in football, wrestling, boxing, and weightlifting (he could even shoot hoops and golf with the best). He earned the nickname of “Red Bull” with his relentless and aggressive style of play and could electrify the crowd with his passionate enthusiasm for winning.

He was extremely driven when he put his entire focus into a new goal or project. He would often find a way to succeed in a fraction of the time it would take the rest of us. This was from either outworking everyone, or finding more efficient ways to produce the expected results.

He took a special interest in those dealing with personal challenges and always tried to be a source of strength and support.

Rhet was at his best when coaching youth and high school sports. He cherished his time teaching and inspiring young athletes as they took the football field or wrestling mat. He loved them and would lose sleep dreaming up ways to help them improve their game as well as grow into honorable men.

As much as he loved his technology and modern comforts, he often spoke of longing to live in a time and place where the sunrise was the alarm clock, and the biggest question on his mind for the day would be how many eggs the chickens would lay, or which friends would he visit. He loved everything outdoors, whether it was camping, hunting, fishing, or horseback riding; and always felt at peace in the mountains.

Rhet had a special love for young children. Like his father Jeff, Rhet carried on the tradition of giving “Whisker burns” to his nieces and nephews as well as the children of close family and friends.

Rhet deeply loved his children and always wanted the very best for them. He was very proud of all of their accomplishments, and of what wonderful children they are, and who they are becoming.

He was preceded in death by his father Jeffrey Max Williams. He is survived by his wife Teniesha Hunt Williams, his son Kaden Jeffrey Williams, and his two daughters Kirstin Ann Williams and Adelaide Rayn Williams, his mother Julie Ann Williams, his sisters, Summer (Nicholas) Lang, Raquel Williams, Danielle (Kyle) Whitaker, grandparents Jimmy and Margaret Williams, and Sam and Vickie Hutchings, and many loving members of his extended family.

We will forever miss our brother, cousin, son, grandson, nephew, uncle, husband, daddy, coach and friend.
