She worked as a secretary to put Lew through school at Weber State and Utah State University and he eventually became a CPA. She continued working until her first son Dee was born.

Lois sacrificed greatly to have her children and she was a very dedicated wife and mother. She was always very kind and tenderhearted toward others. She was very generous and loved visiting with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. In her assisted living apartment, she had a room dedicated to house her collections. However, her grandchildren dubbed it as their playroom and she graciously let them play with her collection of stuffed animals. She always had animal crackers and other treats for them when they visited. The grandchildren always looked forward to the holiday celebrations with their grandmother. She loved her family and they loved her too.

She loved to travel and has traveled to Japan, Germany, Austria, Italy, Holland, Spain, and Great Britain. She has been to many of the western states including Alaska. She was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in various callings, including secretary to her ward Primary and Relief Society presidency. She also served as President of the Utah CPA Auxiliary. She loved to shop and was an avid collector of everything from Beanie Babies to Lladro.

Lois is survived by her two sons, Dee Costley, Salt Lake City; Jerry (Carol) Costley of Centerville and their children, Jason (Jessica) Costley, Ian (Carol) Costley all of Ogden; Jared (Katie) Costley of Layton; Hannah and Emma Costley of Centerville and 4 great-grandchildren Valarie, Evelyn, Jeremy and Jonathan.
