Brian Mauritz Bezzant - 7/26/2017

Brian Mauritz Bezzant, 86 long-time Pleasant Grove resident passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 26, 2017. Brian was born December 13, 1930 in Pleasant Grove to Matthew and Cora Olpin Bezzant. He married Ellen Dawn Walker on June 1, 1950 in Pleasant Grove. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. Brian grew up in Pleasant Grove and loved sports. He played on the basketball and football teams and later received a scholarship to play basketball at the University of Utah. He received his Master’s Degree in Education at Brigham Young University. He served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was stationed in Okinawa, Japan. Brian devoted his career to education and taught school in California and became an administrator. He finished his teaching career at American Fork Junior High School. He spent many hours after school and in the summer driving truck for Savage Brothers. Brian worked very hard all his life to provide for his family. He is survived by his eight children: Tonya (Roger) Mack, Terry (Terri) Bezzant, Kevin (Kathy) Bezzant, Ron (Tori) Bezzant, Wendy (Val) Christoffersen, Randa Bezzant, Paula (Dale) Barlow and Michelle (Reed) Ashby; 26 grandchildren and 36 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Dawn and grandson, Jason Mack and four great grandchildren: Thomas, Hayden, Ava and Cohen. Funeral services will be held Monday, July 31, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Olpin Family Mortuary Chapel, 494 South 300 East, Pleasant Grove where family and friends may attend a viewing from 9:30-10:45 am prior to services. Interment will be in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.olpinmortuary.com.
