Malinda Goeser Caceres - 3/28/2010

Class of 1991

Ivins - Malinda Goeser Caceres, age 37, beloved daughter of Suzanne and Steven Goeser, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at their home in Ivins, Utah. She was born December 19, 1972, in Anaheim, California. She married Raul Caceres in the St. George Temple, November17, 2006.

Malinda was raised in Ivins for most of her life. She attended Dixie High School, Dixie College and the University of Utah. She majored in Theater Arts. Malinda had a joy in life, even though she struggled with ill health from the time she was eleven. She always had a positive attitude, and smiled almost constantly. She loved people, and always tried to serve and help whenever she could. She especially loved her extended family - her brothers and sister, and her nieces and nephews. She tried to help them whenever there was a need. She felt blessed to have them so close to her.

Malinda's love for her two girls, Emily (13) and Elizabeth (Lizzie) (2) was profound. She was always trying to find new ways to teach them, and to give them a rich experience in life that they would remember from her. She so wanted to be able to raise her children to adulthood, and worried that she would not have that time given to her because of her poor health. Emily has been not only her child, but her constant companion and helper throughout most of Emily's life, and Malinda loved her so dearly. Malinda's health worsened prior to Lizzie's premature birth, but even with the problems after that, she was an attentive and loving mother to Lizzie, teaching her sign language when it was discovered that Lizzie's vocal cords had been damaged. The children had a most loving and devoted mother.

Malinda had an especially close relationship with her parents, spending a lot of time living with them when too ill to make it alone. She was a joy to them in their home, always witty and funny, always ready to crack a joke with her Dad. She is sorely missed, a hole in our life that can never be replaced.

Malinda was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. One week prior to her passing, she wrote her feelings about the family, her desire to see them all actively involved, and her testimony of the Gospel. Her last written words were "I know that I belong to the true church. I'm thankful for the leaders of the Church. I'm grateful for my family, and love each and every one of them!"

Malinda is survived by her husband Raul Caceres, Seattle, Washington; her daughters Emily and Elizabeth; parents Steven and Suzanne Goeser; brothers Anton (Tiffany) and Allan (Amy); sister Adrienne Dunn (Robert) all of Ivins. Nieces: Sydney Goeser, Sarah Goeser, TerriLyn Gubler, BreAnna Dunn. Nephews: Jacob Goeser, Caleb Goeser, Carson Goeser. Numerous cousins, aunts and uncles in Australia.
