Lisa Danae Mathews - 2/16/2011

Class of 1985

Lisa Danae Mathews passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday February 16, 2011 at her home in St George, Utah. She and her twin Paulie Kaye were born to Paul Wilden and Dana Rae Duncan Mathews on April 18, 1967 in Reno, Nevada. Paulie Kaye passed away the following day. In 1972 Lisa's family moved to St George where she attended school, graduating from Dixie High School in 1985. She then worked in Dixie College food services for 11 years where she made many friends. Most recently, she worked at Red Mountain Spa in housekeeping. Lisa was a student and volunteer at the NACD House and she loved the learning environment there.

She love country music and enjoyed playing the bones in a local band. She used her talent for crocheting to make Afghans for loved ones. She regularly wrote loving notes to friends and family. She had a knack for remembering birth dates and special occasions. She was known for her genuine smile, cheerful disposition, and sense of humor. As a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she completed a service mission, enjoyed frequent temple attendance and loved serving others. She was dedicated visiting teacher and especially treasured her years as a nursery as leader in the Primary.

She is survived by her parents; her siblings Michelle, Marcia (Mike) Smith, Angel (Sai) Naivalu, Adam, Aaron (Annie Martin) Mathews, twelve cherished nieces and nephews, and Grandfather Geoffrey Charlton.

Family and friend visitation will be at Spilsbury Mortuary on Monday 21, 2011 from 5 to 7pm and again Tuesday 9:30 to 10:30am with funeral service to follow at 11:00am at Spilsbury Mortuary. Interment will be at the St. George City Cemetery.
